Four Months

As my friend Rachel pointed out, Lyla didn't actually have a four month "birthday" this month, since there is no 30th day of February. This made me slack off a little more on taking some 4 month pictures, but we finally got some in the first week of March, even if she is just wearing her pajamas. A few things about Lyla this month:

  • She chews on her hand all day long. Her cheeks are starting to chafe because they are constantly wet from hand chewing--I really think she might be teething (Update: Doctor doesn't think as much)

  • Loves few things more than looking at herself in the mirror. I would too if I were as cute as her!

  • Rolled over this month from tummy to back!

  • Started intentionally grabbing onto objects with her hands, like toys,  blankets, mom's hair, etc.
  • Laughed for the first time this month--It was pretty much the cutest thing ever. Todd started laughing really hard while telling me a story. Lyla was sitting on my lap and all of a sudden started chuckling along with him. We both went silent to see if it had really happened, and she did it again. We about died :). She already thinks her daddy is funny!

  • Sat in the bumbo for the first time this month. She liked it pretty well the first time, but it's been hit and miss since then. When she doesn't like it, she is good at arching her back and almost throwing herself out of the thing.

  • She is SO happy when she wakes up in the morning. I go into her room and flip on the lights in the morning, and when I go to pick her up, she already has a HUGE grin on her face just because she saw the lights go on. It definitely makes getting up in the morning a little easier, knowing I am going to be greeted by such a happy girl who acts so excited to see me. One of my favorite parts of the day for sure.

  • I mentioned last month that Lyla had some residual fussiness from the RSV. Well it looks like she was really just undergoing a personality change because she seems to get more and more fussy daily. I have to laugh when I look back at her one month post and I said that crying was unusual behavior for her. That is definitely not the case anymore! She went from being an Angel baby to a pretty touchy/fussy baby. We love her more than ever, but she sure is more work than she used to be!
Just to show how strong she is. Clearly she loved it :)
We love this girl so much and are so happy that she is a part of our family. She is growing so fast and it is so fun to watch her learn. Can't wait to see what she's up to at month 5!
