Penny started crawling all over the place this month. She is pulling herself up on things and walking around furniture a little bit. She's been babbling "mamamama" and "dadada". She got a vicious cold at the end of the month and woke up with her eyes almost glued shut for six days straight. We are finally on the mend and glad to have those days behind us! She enjoys eating (I don't think she's refused anything I've given her) and occasionally sleeps through the night.

Penny Nine Months
Right after she turned eight months, Penny broke one more tooth. It came rather out of order....she got her two bottom ones and then one on the top right, next to where the middle teeth should be. So she has a major snuggle tooth. She also started scooting, so we are on the move! She starting clapping, which is just adorable. It also appears like she may have learned to wave.
Penny 8 Months
Penny's two bottom teeth broke through the week before she turned eight months. She is getting closer to crawling. She started planking this month, which is awesome because she gets in perfect push up position and can hold it for probably 20 seconds or so. I don't know if I've written it down before, but Penny is the cutest in the bath. You lay her down and she loves to kick her legs and make huge splashes. It's the funniest when she and Lyla bathe together because Lyla gets really upset that Penny is splashing her, and of course Penny doesn't have a clue.

Penny Seven Months
Penny continues to be a delightful child. She spend much of her seventh month sitting up and playing with toys. She is pretty content to just "be" most of the time. This has been a busy month with deciding to move and the accompanying work, so having this easy-going girl has been super helpful!

Penny Six Months
Penny is six months! Where does the time go?? This month was pretty eventful in her little life. She learned how to roll from back to front, just a few days after she turned five months. She is 100% bottle fed, and she can now hold her bottle by herself. She is also very close to sitting up on her own, and can do it for a few seconds by herself. She seems fairly capable physically, but her laid back personality means that usually she's still pretty content to just lay on he back.
We tried solids for the first time this month. She did a lot better than her older sis did the first time. But then again, she's always been a better eater than Lyla was, so it's not too suprising.
Her nightime sleep has really gone down hill the past little bit. She is often waking twice a night, and isn't necessarily going right back to sleep after she eats.
She is the sweetest little baby. We love having her in our home so much. She definitely brightens our lives!

Penny at Five Months
Toward the end of this month, Penny really seemed to be developing more of a personality. I've noticed this the most in the way that she and Lyla interact. They seem much more aware of each other, and have "played" together more than they ever have. Lyla is more interested in Penny, which tells me that Penny is more interesting to her. We love having two little girls around our house.

Penny at 4 months
The big thing that happened this month is that Penny rolled front to back (January 30, so technically in the fifth month, but close). I started to lose my milk supply this month as well, which I think contributed to a fussier baby than usual. Once we started supplementing, she went back to her sweet self. She was sleeping through the night until we went to California right before she turned 4 months, and she hasn't done it since!

Christmas 2015
We had another great Christmas around here! It was fun to have Lyla finally get what was going on a bit. She loved playing with our nativity, and was eager to hear the story of Jesus's birth retold many times. She seemed to know a lot about Santa as well, without Todd or I telling her much about him. He showed up at the end of our ward Christmas party to hand out candy canes to all the kids and she was so cute because she was following him around and saying "Santa, Santa" softly as she followed him around. I realized that she wanted to tell him something, and so I asked her what she wanted to say. She told me "I need to tell Santa to bring me Anna and Elsa and Olaf". I had mentioned to he a few times when she'd tell me she wanted something to tell Santa that she would like that, and it seemed that when she finally saw him, she knew exactly what she was supposed to do! I flagged him down and had her repeat her request and it was super cute. I just wish I had a better picture!
We headed up to the Barfusses' house on Christmas eve for a yummy beef tenderloin dinner. Sarah was kind enough to lend us her room, so we slept over and were there Christmas morning. Christmas day was a lot of fun. Lyla got a dollhouse with some Frozen dolls from Santa, and played really well with them. We loved spending time with family.
