zoo day

As usual, Lyla and I were spoiled rotten by Mimi, and in this case it meant that we got to go to the zoo with Mya, Owen, Liz, and Duncan. Lyla is still a little young to appreciate all the animals, but she had a great time on her first carousel ride and was obsessed with the splash pad. It was fun to walk around the zoo together, watch Mya with the animals, and just get out of the house!

Boating

In August, we had the opportunity to go out on the Barfuss's boat with Liz, Mya, Owen, Jason, and Andy. Since Todd and I weren't going to be able to go to Lake Powell with the fam, Todd took the day off work, and it was so fun to have him with us. It was Lyla's first experiencing boating, and I was a little nervous of how she would behave, but she did great! It was a really fun day, and I'm so glad that we got a little boating in this summer.

Lyla was dying to get in the water, but once she got in, she wasn't too sure if she liked it.

Ten

We are starting to have a big girl on our hands. Lyla learned to wave, stand for a few seconds on her own. She loves riding on dad's shoulders, is starting to dance a little with some of her music toys, and her love for all things electronic continues to grow. She is simultaneously starting to like more foods, and getting pickier about what she eats at the same time. We love our girl so much and her little smile lights up our lives!

Nine

This month....
Lyla cut two new teeth and started pulling herself into sitting position.
We spent lots of time with cousins for my family reunion, and attended Grandma Gyllenskog's funeral this month. She passed away in her sleep on July 12, and I'm so grateful that Lyla got the chance to meet her twice.
Lyla is loving Cheerios, sweet potatoes, and playing in the dishwasher. Lyla girl is also obsessed with her daddy. She cries when he leaves for work and gets the biggest smile on her face when he comes home. It is so fun to watch those two together.
